[English/Review] Sonic The Hedgehog (2013 mobile port) The legendary of Sonic game, now much better than original.
I'm using Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 - Android 2.3.6 for review device, working 100% with no problem.

Hello Sonic FC and not, last Friday, new Sonic game arrived at Google Play Store from Sega, this game had rumor from Android Police at GDC 2013 that saying some member of Sonic Retro (Taxman and Stealth) is remastering/remaking Sonic 1 to mobile platform (iOS and Android), the price is $2.99 with some trailer. Now it past for about 1 month, this port is arrived for Nintendo 3DS in Sega's 3D Classic along with Super Hang-On and Space Harrier at May, 15 Sonic Retro (Sega and Nintendo become partnership for Sonic and Mario games few day ago Sega Blog).

Yesterday, I've some money in my pocket (~$3.33), then went to bank to deposit it, and buy this game immediately, And receipt came into my Gmail account. (I don't want to Refund, I would buy it for forever).
Take some time see that icon in App Drawer.
Trying to open and see what is showing on screen.
It's SEGA logo (silent), Taxman's logo and much great title screen (This is Japan box art.)
Touch immediately, and you will see this.
Start Game (Europe / PAL Cartridge).

First, Start Game, you can see 5 buttons, No Save Mode (I thing this mode can be finished the game without save) and 4 slots of save game like Sonic CD (2011).
I've selected No Save Mode, Now you can select the player, you can play as Sonic and Tails, Tails or Knuckles if you've unlocked.
Just selected Sonic, now you would see the original cartridge content, retro SE-GA sound and original title screen.
Touch to start, and you can play as long as you wish.
Trying to Spin Dash.
Pressing Pause button.
This menu has 4 choice, Continue, Restart (lost 1 life, but it have to confirm), Settings (You cannot Enable/Disable Spin Dash in this menu) and Exit.
Next menu, Time Attack Mode, you can select the level that you want to play if you've finish that level in Normal Mode (you have to use save slot to save level progress).
The last one, Help & Options, you can see 4 choice.
Instructions (I think much people doesn't have to read this, it's too easy to play).
Next, Settings like before one, but you can adjust Spin Dash, you can change box art too.
Much customizable D-Pad, Size, Opacity and Position, you're free to select.

To exit, press back button (also B button). For physical keyboard phone you can press this (I think it would like Sonic CD 2011 config).
You can use Debug Mode/Level Select (thank Sonic Retro).
To use this, if you have keyboard or controller you can press Up Down Left Right and A + Start at game title like original. But if you have touchscreen-only phone, start game in no save mode, wait for Sega sound and logo, press S E G A in ascending order, if you finish doing this you will hear ring chime, and you have to use two fingers touch the screen until title screen is going left (like starting Green Hill Zone) and you will see this Level Select.
You can enable Spin Dash, enable some original bug, select item in monitor (you can get fire or lightning shield from Sonic 3) and select 6 or 7 emeralds to get in game.
You can press code on Sound Test
04, 01, 02, 06 - Get all chaos emeralds.
01, 09, 09, 01, 00, 06, 02, 03 - Enable Debug Mode.
You can select the level.
Support Android 2.3 and above, QVGA and above, CPU ARMv5TE and above, ARMv7 and above and x86(doesn't have Native Code for x86 yet) Multi-touch screen (2 fingers and up).

Debug Mode, you can put item as much as you want, going to stage from level select, and you can press HUD at top-left or press back button (keyboard or controller user can press button like original game).
Let's see some techincal information, in this version (1.0.0) you cannot move this game to SD Card, we have to wait for update, permissions isn't much risk (doesn't have license check).
Compared with other games, Sonic Jump and Sonic 4 Ep I can only move to SD Card, except this is stay in phone without (adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2) command to force move it.
If you want to hack save file, go to this path (Android 4.1 = /storage/sdcard0)
/sdcard/Android/data/com.sega.sonic1/files/SGame.bin, Like Sonic CD.
If you want video, be patient.
